Care Services – Torrington
Imagine you have just been told that the Cancer Department at your local hospital who have been treating you for Terminal Cancer claim that your current disorder is not their responsibility.
You are sent home to die. Your partner is going into hospital in a few days time to have a Knee-replacement operation and will be away for about 5 days.
The local medical services try to get you into the Cottage Hospital – sorry no room today!
Care at home can happen in addition to NHS nursing visits – if you declare your financial status up front – just in case you are worth more than £23,000.
You are gutted and angry and tell them to forget it and you return exhausted to your twilight zone.
This is what happened last week in Great Torrington.
We are off to check out whether the bold, insensitive and bossy approach taken by representative of the supplier of Care Services had developed their own individual approach to these matters or whether this was what is commonly known as a ‘box-ticking exercise ‘ for which they were trained – neither to look left or right.
